Happy Halloween!Still a few Halloween events going on. If you're still undecided where to take the kids trick or treating today or if you want to try somewhere new outside the neighborhood, here are a few organized events in Fairfax County that are going on today:
Fairfax Corner Halloween Spooktacular
This event starts at noon and runs until 4:00 p.m. Activities include a Mad Science Halloween show, costume contest for the kids, pet costume contest, face painting, games and more. The location is at the Fairfax Corner Intersection of Monument Dr. and Fairfax Corner Ave., Fairfax, VA. Admission is free! Please visit their website for the times of each event and other activities scheduled.
National Firearms Museum Trick-or-Treat
The museum is hosting their 1st trick or treat event this year. Children are welcome to dress up and trick or treat through the exhibits. You do have to pay admission to the museum, but the the museum will be decked out in Halloween decor and the kids can trick or treat between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The National Firearms Museum is located at 11250 Waples Mill Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030
Ghost Train Rides at Burke Lake Park
Kids are welcomed and encouraged to come in costume for this seasonal event. Kids can ride the train (and under 6 must have an adult accompany them) and at the end of the line receive a treat from the Great Pumpkin. The Ghost Train Rides are running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last ticket for sale is at 4:30 p.m.). The "train station" is located at Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Rd., Fairfax Station, VA. The cost is $4 and age 1 and younger are free! Please visit the Parks website for more information about the event.
Fair Oaks Mall
This year the Fair Oaks Mall is hosting it's 22nd annual Halloween event. Kids can dress up and go trick or treating through the various stores in the mall between 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The Fair Oaks Mall is located at 11750 Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA 22033
Fairfax Christian Church
This year the Fairfax Christian Church will be hosting their 1st Halloween celebration. The event is open to the public and they'll have games, food, music, costumes and fellowship. Visitors are welcome to bring desserts, games or music. The party begins at 6:00 p.m. and runs until ????.
